Junk & Garbage Removal

Gone this week — carried, sorted, and disposed of properly.

SpringSummerFallWinter

Nova Scotia has some of the strictest waste rules in North America — source-separated organics, dedicated recyclable streams, and landfill bans on many materials. That makes "just chuck it in the truck" both wrong and expensive. We do removal the right way: loaded fast, sorted into the correct streams (donate, recycle, dispose), and disposed of in full compliance with municipal rules.

From a single mattress to a full estate cleanout, one crew with the right truck handles the lifting, stairs included. You point at what goes; two hours later it's like it was never there.

Nova Scotia disposal rules are the whole job

Halifax was a pioneer of curbside source separation — green carts for organics, blue bags for recyclables, strict limits on what can go to the curb and when. Bulk items like mattresses and appliances can't simply appear at the curb here: they need proper handling, and many materials are outright banned from landfill. A removal service that doesn't sort isn't cheaper — it just hands you the liability later.

Our approach is donation-first and recycle-always. Decent furniture, tools, bikes, and building materials get routed to local charities and reuse organizations; metal, electronics, and appliances go to proper recyclers; only true garbage goes to the waste stream. It costs us a bit more effort and it's the right way to run this trade in this province.

Timing matters more than people think. Spring cleanout season (April–June) and the pre-move months fill schedules fast — and storm-debris calls after big weather events are first-come, first-served. Booking a slot takes two minutes and holds your crew and truck.

Common questions

How does pricing by volume work?

You pay for the truck space your junk fills — our quotes come with photos and a clear description of the load level, so there's no "surprise, it was more than we thought" at the curb. Single items are flat-rate; whole cleanouts are quoted after a walkthrough (photos work).

Do I need to be home?

No — garage, driveway, yard, and deck items can go with clear instructions and photos. For indoor pickups we'll arrange entry that suits you. Either way you get before/after photos of exactly what was taken.

What can't you take?

Hazardous materials are the main one: paint, chemicals, fuel, asbestos, and biomedical waste need special disposal channels (we can point you to the right HRM facility). Everything else — furniture, appliances, mattresses, electronics, renovation debris, yard waste — is in scope.

Do you donate anything usable?

Always — it's policy, not a gesture. Furniture, housewares, tools, and sports gear in decent shape go to local charities, and we tell you what was donated so you know it went to a second life. Some loads qualify for a donation credit on the price.

Can you do it the same day?

Same-week is standard and often same-day when a truck is free — storm debris and pre-move deadlines get our first openings. Book through the quote form or the AI assistant and you'll get the next available window immediately.
